About Joyce Elson Moore

Joyce Moore lives on three acres in Florida with her two rescued boxer dogs. During one teen-aged summer, while reading Nancy Drew mysteries and Little Women, she fell in love with the written word. Her current passions, besides writing, are her herb garden, golf, piano, yoga, and belly dancing. Being a Gemini, her interests can change with the tide.

Joyce is an award winning author, having won various contests such as Writing the Region, First Coast Writers’ Festival Contest, and most recently, an historical novel won an award in the Mainstream Fiction category at the Florida Writers Conference. Her work has appeared in magazines and publications such as USF's Sunscripts and Mature Traveler. Joyce attended the Cincinnati Conservatory and earned her Masters in Music Theory from USF, so there is always a mention of music in her novels. She is a frequent speaker at historical groups and book events like Times Festival of Reading and Book Talk, a TV production. Joyce is presently at work on another historical novel, this time set in 15th century Venice.
